Salvation

We sing to share the message of God’s wonderful love and to bring others to know Him as their personal Savior as we do. How can you know for certain that you are going to heaven? The Bible tells us in Ephesians 2: 8-9 that you must have sincere faith.

FAITH can be used as an acronym to lead us to salvation:

F

The “F” in FAITH is for FORGIVENESS. The Bible tells us that we cannot have eternal life in heaven without God’s forgiveness for our sins. The Bible says “In Him (meaning Jesus) we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.”(Ephesians 1:7)

A

The “A” is for AVAILABLE. His forgiveness is available to everybody. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) God’s forgiveness is available for all but it is not automatic. You must ask Him for it.

I

The “I” is for IMPOSSIBLE. It is impossible for God to allow sin into heaven. This is due to the perfect nature of God and the sinful nature of man. The Bible tells us in Romans 3:23 that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” How then can anyone get to heaven where God allows no sin if we are all sinful?

T

The “T” is for TURN. We must be willing to turn away from our sins and turn to Jesus Christ and to Him only. “Unless you repent you shall all likewise perish.”(Luke 13:3). “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, YOU WILL BE SAVED.”

H

The “H” is for HEAVEN. You can have the assurance of heaven. The moment you trust in Jesus, you have the promise of eternal life in heaven with Him. This means that you can enjoy a personal relationship with Him now while you are on this earth, and throughout all eternity to come. Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10) In addition, you will know that when you die you will live in a place called Heaven where Jesus has said:“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am, there you may be also.” (John 14:3)

God loves you regardless of where you came from or what sins you’ve committed. He loves you so much that He sent His only Son to die for you so that you may have eternal life. Simply pray the following prayer:

Dear Jesus,

I know I am a sinner. I confess to you my sins and I leave them with you. I believe you died on the cross to save me and I now accept you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Thank you for loving me, and saving me, and giving me eternal life. Amen.

If you prayed that prayer or any other sincere prayer of repentance and confession, according to God’s Word, you are born again, and can now rejoice that you are on your way to Heaven.
